Campground Review: RAINA campground, Abiquiu Lake, Abiquiu New Mexico

Why we chose here?  We left Durango a day early because a storm was blowing in. Our reservation in Santa Fe was not until the next day so we decided to pull off the road and rest our heads at this spot for the night.
Location: About an hour north of Santa Fe, this is a relatively scenic spot to spend some time and a good place to come play in the water if you are into that kind of thing.

Sites: 52 sites, 13 with water and electric. Some are very large and are fenced off from each other. There are picnic tables, firepits and shelters. Some have terrific lake views.  This is a Corps of Engineers campground and seemed to be very well constructed.

Groceries: Santa Fe is the closest spot for decent grocery shopping.

Reservations: Yes. We didn't need them.

Cell Coverage / WiFi: Yes good AT&T coverage.

Price Paid: $12 dry

Date of visit: Oct 2014

Other:  Note this is a no alcohol campground. They told us that no-one would really bother us if we had a drink in our rig, but technically no alcohol is allowed in the park.  Bummer - no beers by the fire. From what I can see Abiquiu Lake and Reservoir are the same place.

Would we come here again? Yes as a stopover, this is a nice camping spot.
