Why we chose here? We were tired of Phoenix and needed a fix for small towns and great scenery. We had heard lots of good things about Cottonwood and Sedona. Once the weather turned a little more like it we headed up highway 17 to Red Rock country. We knew from Campendium that there were some great spots in the Coconino National Forest.Location: The scenery is truly amazing, our spot had wonderful views over the Sedona area, we woke up each morning surrounded by glowing red rocks. Both Sedona and Cottonwood are with 15 minutes drive away, and some of the great Sedona hikes are even closer. The extra few miles away from the 89A are worth it for the better scenery. The dirt road is not too hard to drive, a little bumpy but not a big deal.
Sites: There are quite a few sites along the road, some of them are clustered together. Not a problem for us as we were with company and met some new friends along the way.
Facilities: Nothing here. We drove into Cottonwood to the Verde Valley Fairgrounds to fill our water containers.
Reservations: No. Regular stay limits for National Forest of 14 days in a month.
Cell Coverage / WiFi: Both Verizon and AT&T coverage was good. But even though we had good signal, the towers were overloaded and we especially found Verizon to be unworkable at times, switching to AT&T when that happened. This has been a common occurrence in Arizona. Good coverage, no speed.

Other: This spot is truly beautiful and such a great location We had some very windy days, but most of the time everything was quiet and blissfully bug-free. The dust is pretty ubiquitous, might want to wait to wash your rig after you leave.
Would we come here again? Yes, in a heartbeat.
