Why we chose here? After a few days at Valley of Fire State Park we wanted to head north for some elevation (i.e. cooler temperatures) and some cell coverage / internet connectivity. This was a convenient and very scenic stop over on the way to Southern Utah, our ultimate destination.
Location: This BLM campground is right off Interstate 15, but far enough away that you can't here the noise. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The campground is surrounded by dramatic, multicolored gigantic rocks. The campground is not far from St George
Sites: All sites have table, BBQ and fire-ring. There are two types of site, small back in that are designed for tents and larger pull in, that are suitable for RVs. All sites are dry. No hooks up here.
Facilities: There are restrooms here and trash. No recycling.
Groceries: We brought our food with us. St George has supermarkets. None of our faves though. .
Reservations: No this is a FCFS campground. We had no trouble getting a spot on Saturday arriving at around 1pm.
Cell Coverage / WiFi: Verizon 4G LTE is availabel here, but drops in and out. No AT&T here.
Price Paid: $8 a night for dry site.
Date of visit: April 2015
Would we come here again? Definitely yes. May stop here for a few days next time, so we can hike the trails from the park.
