Campground Review: Pine Creek Campground, Nr Livingston, MT

Our gigantic site #8
Why we chose here? We like to be near small friendly towns and had heard good things about Livingston, also we still wanted to visit the North Loop of Yellowstone and this seemed a good location for that.

Location: The park is about 15 miles south of Livingston. The campground is beautifully set in trees. It is about 50 minutes drive to the Gardiner entrance of Yellowstone.  The road up to the campground is single track with pull outs, and a little windy and narrow in parts. We had a few tricky maneuvers with the trailer to get past people as we were leaving.

Sites: Only a few sites were long enough for our rig, and fortunately we found one that also had limited shade so we could charge our solar panels. Our site was huge and had complete privacy. Most of the spots were very roomy. There is a picnic table and fire pit at all sites.

Facilities: Toilets, water and trash.

Groceries: Livingston has a couple of OK grocery stores that will meet basic needs.

Reservations: Yes, although we didn't have them we arrived on a weekday and found the campground mostly empty. It filled up at the weekend though.

Cell Coverage / WiFi: Verizon worked well enough with a booster for us to get good internet and stream some TV.

Price Paid: $14

Date of visit: July 2015

Other: There is a nice hike up to a waterfall and a more challenging one beyond that if you are feeling more energetic than we were at the time. The trailheads are right at the campground. The whole area of Paradise Valley where this campground is located is stunningly beautiful.

Would we come here again? Yes. It was a scenic and very private spot.
