Campground Review: Nason Creek Campground, Nr Leavenworth, WA

Why we chose here: We were heading from Coeur d'Alene to the Seattle area and decided that a trip through this pass would be interesting and we can't resist a European Style Town

Location The campground is about 18 miles from Leavenworth and very close (walkable) to Lake Wenatchee and its associated state park.  Great hiking is a 30 minute drive away in Icicle River valley.
Sites:  There are 70 sites here. There are several loops, some just for tents and some much larger ones. Some of them are two sites together, which isn't ideal if you are not traveling in pairs, but the surrounding sitting areas are large enough that we managed to make it work.  Some of the cites back up to the creek and are fairly open (great for solar) while other are nestled in the trees.  All sites have a picnic table and fire rings - but unsurprisingly Washington has a state wide burn ban in effect.

Facilities: There is fresh water and trash and aluminum can recycling.  There are also toilets.  There is no dump station but there is one 2 miles up Highway 2. There are no hook-up sites here.

Groceries: Leavenworth has a Safeway, a small farmer's market and a Natural Food store, which was just OK.

Reservations: Yes for  about 60% of the sites, the rest are FCFS

Cell Coverage / WiFi: We had good signal with both AT&T and Verizon.

Price Paid: $21

Date of visit: August 2015

Other: This was definitely a good choice for us, being fairly close to Leavenworth but still in nature.

Would we come here again? Yes, definitely my choice if we were in the area again.
