Campground Review: Columbia River RV Park, Portland

Why we chose here: We wanted to spend a few days exploring Portland and this RV park is one of the closest to the downtown area and had been well reviewed by friends.

Location About 8 miles from downtown Portland. Rather than take our truck into the city we took the light rail system from the nearby Expo Center where it is much easier to park. Although this is on the edge of the Columbia river there is very little access to the river here, so don't expect that.

Sites:  This is a large park and pretty typical layout, with paved level spots, some pull through, some back in.  The sites are roomy with plenty of room to park.  No outdoor tables here.

Facilities: There are showers and restrooms, a small gym a laundromat and a club room.  We didn't use any facilities but they looked clean and well maintained. The whole park is immaculate, clearly well managed and maintained.

Groceries: Portland has a plethora of fantastic places to buy healthy goodies.  Unfortunately we were not around for the Saturday Farmers Market

Reservations: Yes. This is a busy park and we have found ourselves unable to get in here in the past.

Cell Coverage / WiFi: We had good signal with both AT&T and Verizon.

Price Paid: $31.50 Good Sam Rate

Date of visit: October 2015

Would we come here again? Yes. Although we don't normally stay in RV parks, this is the best choice for being near to the city. Definitely a cost effective, well maintained park.
