Campground Review: Boondocking: Kofa National Wildlife Refuge, Palm Canyon

Boondocking: Kofa National Wildlife Refuge, Palm Canyon

Why we chose here? We wanted to visit the Quartzite RV show just for the experience of seeing so many RV travelers in one place, but we didn't really want to stay in Quartzite with tons of other people. Some friends had already scoped out this spot so we joined them here.

Location: GPS: 33°22'53.2"N 114°12'17.2"W. This is close enough to Quartzsite to visit without being in the middle of Quartzite. There were a few other rigs here, but it is not crowded at all. It is a pretty remote place and there is a little bit of hiking in the area but generally you are a good drive away from lots of things.
Sites: Dispersed

Facilities: None. Dump, water and propane all available in Quartzite.

Groceries: Bring food with you. The grocery stores in Quartzite are awful.

Reservations: None

Cell Coverage / WiFi: Both AT&T and Verizon were solid

Price Paid: Free

Date of visit: Jan 2015

Other: Pretty and peaceful most of the time.  There are some military aircraft in the area but they were not noisy and generally were fun to watch as they were dropping parachutists on many of the days we were there.

Would we come here again? Yes. If we wanted peace and quiet.
