Campground Review: Point Hudson, Marina, Port Townsend, WA

Why we chose here: The town of Port Townsend had been recommended to us by many fellow travelers. We had read good reviews of this park and the fact that it was walking distance to town was very appealing. We managed to snag a cancellation for one of the best spots in the park for a few days with just a week's notice.  

Location:  The RV park is part of the marina complex and many of the sites are right on the water. You can stroll to the town with it's good selection of coffee shops,

Sites:  There are 46 hook-up sites here, some are better than others.  We were very happy with our waterfront site, but some of the others were less inspiring.  But you do save a little cash and honestly the main benefit of this RV park is the location and proximity to the town.

Facilities: There is trash and recycling.  Showers and restrooms, we didn't try them as we had hook-ups.  There is a small laundry on site.  There are restaurants on the marina site, but there is a better choice is you walk the 5 mins into town.

Groceries: There is a food co-op just past the ferry terminal. There is also a Safeway and a small natural grocery store in the Uptown area.

Reservations: Yes. They are recommended. This is a very busy campground, and sites book up to a year in advance. We were lucky to get a last minute spot, but we had to be flexible with our dates to get one.

Cell Coverage / WiFi: We had good signal with both AT&T and Verizon.

Price Paid: $55 a night for a waterfront site. The sites further from the water are less expensive

Date of visit: August 2015

Other: This is an expensive spot for us, but for a few nights it was worth it to be close to the town.
