Campground Review: Bakersfield RV Travel Park, Bakersfield California

Why we chose here: We were planning to store the trailer for a few months in the area and wanted somewhere with hooks up to base ourselves for a night or two to get the rig ready. Bakersfield is not somewhere I would chose a lot of time, but it was convenient for what we needed. There are many long term residents here and I didn't really like the vibe too much.  The staff were super friendly though and I can't technically ding the park for anything, but I don't like staying in these places with lots of very old rigs, and full-time residents.

Sites:  Well they sure pack 'em in here. They are fitting two rigs into each pull-through spot. Fortunately we didn't have anyone to share with, but it would have been mighty close. This is a major downside here.

Facilities: They have laundry, a pool, cable, wi-fi. We didn't try any of it so I can't report.

Groceries: Bakersfield has Trader Joes, as well as other major grocery stores.

Reservations: Yes

Cell Coverage / WiFi: Yes good coverage from Verizon and AT&T. We didn't try their WiFi.

Price Paid: $31

Date of visit: January 2016

Would we come here again? No, I think the way they put rigs so close together really puts me off.
