Campground Review: Pine Cove Campground, Frisco, CO

Why we chose here: Dillon Lake, Breckenridge and the surrounding area was highly reviewed by fellow travelers. We also had friends in nearby Copper Mountain to visit, so this was a great base to explore the area. We stayed in Peak One Campground next door for the first part of our visit, but had to move out during the weekend, due to all sites being reserved.

Location: This is a great location.  The campground is right on the lake, we kayaked right from our site.  You can also walk or cycle to nearby Frisco, which has a great little downtown area. You are a short drive from Breckenridge too. Pine beetles have done a number on the trees in the area hand a few years ago they were all cut down.

Sites: The sites are very close together really just a parking lot, but half of them back directly onto the water. It's close quarters but the view and lake access makes it worthwhile

Facilities: Restrooms, no showers.  There is water available. There is no dump station, there is a pay one a few miles away on the way to Breckenridge.

Groceries: There is a Whole Foods and a Natural Grocers in nearby Frisco.

Reservations: No this is First Come First Served. Peak One next door is reservable.

Cell coverage / WiFi: Yes good coverage from Verizon. AT&T and T-Mobile

Price paid: $22 for a dry site

Date of visit: August 2016

Would we visit again? Yes, although I think Peak One is preferable to this location. being right on the lake was a real treat, and the surrounding area provides lots of choices for recreation activities.
