Campground Review: Boondocking: American Girl Mine Road, Nr Yuma

Boondocking American Girl Mine Road, Nr Yuma

Why we chose here? We wanted to visit Los Algodones in Mexico for the day to stock up on some Tequila.  Some friends had already scoped out this spot so we joined them.

Location: GPS: 32.833565, -114.810133. This is over the California state line but is close to Yuma Arizona (Prepare for time zone confusion). Less than 10 miles from Yuma, nearby are some cool sand dunes. Close to the border to cross to Los Algodones.

Sites: Dispersed

Facilities: None. Dump, water and propane all available in Yuma.

Groceries: Yuma has Frys, Albertson's and Del Sol.  Albertson's had a good fresh fish counter, Fry's had a decent choice of organic food.

Reservations: None

Cell Coverage / WiFi: Both AT&T and Verizon were solid

Price Paid: Free

Date of visit: Feb 2015

Other: Not terribly scenic and quite busy with lots of other RV's.  We found the military aircraft to be quite noisy and they are present throughout the night too.

Would we come here again? Maybe although I would tend to choose Mittry Lake instead, as a more scenic spot.
