Location: Less than an hour north of Las Vegas, but this feels quite remote. With limited cell coverage this is a good spot to get away from it all. The scenery is terrific and you can get up close and personal with some very colorful rocks.
Sites: There are two campgrounds Atlatl Rock is more developed with some of the sites have water and electric hook ups and there are showers. We stayed in the Arch Rock campground which is a little more primitive, there are no hook ups, but you still have a BBQ grill, fire ring, picnic table and a shelter. A lot of the spots are really great
Facilities: There are restrooms here and trash. There is a dump station on the way into the campgrounds. No recycling on site.
Groceries: Overton has a small supermarket (Lin's) which meets basic needs. For a broader choice of organics and other wholesome faves you'll need to shop before you come.
Reservations: Nevada State Parks don't take reservations. We found this FCFS campground filled up each night we were there. But if you get there early you should have no trouble getting a spot.
Cell Coverage / WiFi: We had minimal Verizon with the booster, but it was not good enough for internet connectivity. AT&T was also minimal, with just Edge coverage in a few points in the park. Generally I would say we could not reliably get online anywhere in this park.
Price Paid: $20 a night for dry site.

Would we come here again? Yes for a day or two, if we could be without connectivity while there.
