Is this a spot? Who knows? |
Location: Choteau is a small town on the way to the Eastern entrances of Glacier National Park. From what we could see the town is pretty un-noteworthy but was a great spot for an overnight stay. It is about a 90 minute drive to East Glacier from here.
Sites: There are several ill-defined campsite. Some are in better shape than others, some are totally overgrown. The firepits and picnic tables were in pretty sorry states.
Facilities: Toilets, dump station, water trash and some recycling. We didn't try the restrooms but judging by the state of the rest of the campground I am not sure I would have wanted to.
Groceries: There was a small grocery store that was closed when we were there.
Reservations: No - FCFS only. There is a 3 day stay limit.
Cell Coverage / WiFi: We had great Verizon and AT&T coverage here.
Price Paid: $8
Date of visit: July 2015
Would we come here again? No, good for an overnight spot, but no reason to come here other than to sleep and get some cell coverage.
Other: This campground was pretty dilapidated. It is right in town and it served our needs. But honestly the whole place needs some TLC.
