Campground Review: Beauty Creek Campground, Nr Coeur d'Alene

Why we chose here: We wanted to spend some time in Coeur d'Alene but didn't want to go to an RV Park, this was the closest campground we could find to the city.

Location The campground is about 11 miles from Coeur d'Alene on the east side of Coeur d'Alene. It is just a few miles from the freeway so very easy to access.  It is directly off US 97 scenic byway so you can easily access Harrison and the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes bike path in a 40 minute scenic drive. The mineral Ridge Recreation Trail is less than half a mile from here.
Sites: The site are mixed, some are just suitable for tents, others are larger and paved.  Ours was very narrow but had a large seating area. Generally the sites are well spaced and have a good deal of privacy. All sites here are dry.

Facilities: There are pit toilets, fresh water and trash.  No recycling, dump station or showers.

Groceries: Coeur d'Alene has a good selection of grocery stores.  We especially liked Pilgrim's Market, which ahd a great selection of organic foods and a really great beer cabinet.

Reservations: Yes for half of the sites, the rest are FCFS

Cell Coverage / WiFi: We had good signal with both AT&T and Verizon.

Price Paid: $20

Date of visit: August 2015

Other: This was definitely a good choice for us, being so close to town but still in nature. The only complaint I would have is that the host ran an industrial size generator the whole time we were there. We were far enough away from the noise but a lot of the sites weren't. I would have moved if I had been closer, that's a pretty obnoxious thing to do.

Would we come here again? Yes, definitely my choice if we were in the area again.
