Campground Review: Valley of The Rogue State Park

Why we chose here: This stop was part of our re-positioning from Portland to Los Angeles. We just wanted a place to rest overnight, that was close to the freeway.

Location Right off the Interstate 5 close to Gold Hill, about 12 miles south of Grant's Pass and 18 miles north of Medford. Some may be bothered by the noise of the highway but it didn't bother us.

Sites:  A big bonus for us when we are in re-positioning mode and just need a quick overnight stay are sites that are big enough to allow us to remain hitched up. This campground had a great selection of large pull through sites. Some have electricity and water hookups for a small premium cost. All sites have picnic tables and fire rings.  The sites are roomy and some back directly to the Rogue river.

Facilities: There are showers and restrooms which we didn't use during our one night stay. Fresh water and electricity and some sites.  There is a dump station on site. Trash but no recycling.

Groceries: Grants Pass and Medford are close by.  Medford has a Natural Grocer's

Reservations: Yes for some sites.  We did not

Cell Coverage / WiFi: We had good signal with both AT&T and Verizon.

Price Paid: $26 for a water and electric site.

Date of visit: October 2015

Would we come here again? Yes, it's actually a really pretty park and would be a good choice if you wanted to visit Grants Pass and the scenic area surrounding.
